A Promotion Event for Nanjing Jiangning Economic and Technical Development Zone

On July 10, 2006 in Hyatt Regency Dearborn, DCBA hosted a promotion event for Nanjing Jiangning Economic and Technical Development Zone ( JNDZ) and co-hosted another event with Wayne County for its signing ceremony of Business Partnership with the city of Nanjing. Mr. Joe Miao, vice president of DCBA hosted the event.

Mr. Daoqiang Jin, deputy mayor of Nanjing, told the audience that the city is the home to 9,300 of multinational firms from 92 countries and has attracted US$ 14billion(27billion projected) in grand investment. Since the setup in 1997, its JNDZ district had attracted over 2000 companies from 24 foreign countries and brought over 5 billion US dollars investment, according Mr. Lianghu Yang, deputy director of JNDZ. With its convenient transportation, superior ecological surroundings, abundant talent pool and the world-class manufacturing facilities, JNDZ had been developed to be one of eight top automobile bases in China. According to Mr. Yang, JNDZ has over 200 automobile OEMs and suppliers, including Nanjing Fiat Company, Nanjing-Iveco (Nanjing-Fiat and Soyat), Yuejin Motor Group, Mercedes-Benz, and Chery.

Mr. David Snyder, the executive director of business of Ford Motor Company, agreed with Mr. Jin and Mr. Yang's introduction of Nanjing. He said Ford Motor Company selected JNDZ of Nanjing as one of its three major bases in China because of its unique business environment and impressive infrastructure setup. Ford decided a year ago to setup Changan Ford Mazda Engine Co., Ltd.(CFME) in JNDZ besides the existing Changan Ford plant.

Mr. Robert Ficano, the Chief Executive Officer of Wayne County, came to the event along with a group of 10 local business leaders. He welcomed JNDZ delegation and predicted that the mutual commitment of both sides would lead to more economic opportunities. At the end of the event, Mr. Ficano and Mr. Jin co-signed the agreement of business partnership between Wayne County and Nanjing City.

 

南京江宁经济和技术开发区推介会
2006年7月10日，底特律中华商会举办了南京江宁经济技术开发区推介会并与韦恩郡共同主持韦恩与南京结成商业夥伴的签字仪式。商会缪云渠副会长主持了会议。南京市长靳道强先生介绍目前已有92个国家的9300个企业落户南京，吸引了140亿美元的投资。根据江宁经济技术开发区主任杨良虎先生的介绍，成立于1997年的开发区已有24个不同国家的2000余家企业落户，已吸收50亿美元的投资。由于交通便捷，优秀人才济济及拥有世界水平的工厂设备，开发区已经成为顶尖的中国汽车工业基地之一。开发区目前已有200个主机厂和配件厂家。例如跃进汽车集团，南京菲亚特-新雅途，奔驰和奇瑞等企业。

福特汽车公司的商务主管David Snyder 先生非常认同金市长和杨主任的介绍。福特在中国有三个主要的基地，他认为把南京作为其中之一是因为南京独特的商业环境和令人印象深刻的基础设施建设。福特在开发区除了已有的长安福特厂之外，还将成立长安福特马自达发动机公司。韦恩郡郡长Robert Ficano 先生带领当地10家企业领导人参加了会议。他欢迎金市长和代表团并且希望双方的共同承诺会给对方带来无限商机。最后，双方签署了结成商业夥伴的协议。
