| DCBA Investment Conference – China’s Investment To Michigan
'Go Abroad' by to Michigan, DCBA hosted an investment's Investment to Michigan' conference -Chinaat Hyatt Hotel of Dearbon on December 5th, 2005 by inviting a Chinese delegation. The group was led by Ms Zhou from CIPA enlightened the audience about the recent overseas investment of China and its promotion infrastructure. She said in 2004 alone China itself has invested 5.5 billion US Dollars elsewhere in the world, which is a 93% increase from 2003. Mr. Harry C. Whalen, Senior Vice President of MEDC, presented number of facts to the Chinese delegation of what makes Michigan stand out of other states to be a great investment destination. Mr. Hilfinger from Foley & Lardner, a law firm specializing in assisting automotive suppliers with all of their legal needs including merger and acquisition transactions, presented the US investment procedures and important government regulations. He also shared his insight on the critical factors and approaches of the foreign investment to US. Mr. Aspatore has introduced Amherst Partner's recent experience of representing Shanxi Qinchuan Machinery Development Co. at China to handle a requisition of a US firm and representing the US company Powers and Sons to work with Chinese counterpart. In the briefing of why both cases have turned out very successful, Mr. Aspatore highlighted several key factors during each phase of market analysis/formulate Strategy, identify/contact potential targets, and pricing/negotiations/closing. Representing Chinese companies, Ms. Huang, Mei Yan, a deputy general manager of China General Technology (Group) Holding, Ltd. delivered a scheech to introduce her company products, services and investment intention.
